Punjab schools to reopen from April 1

Published on: March 25, 2026 9:56 PM

Punjab’s Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat announced that schools across the province will reopen from April 1. The decision ends ongoing holidays introduced due to the regional energy crisis. Students, teachers, and institutions across Punjab will resume academic activities.

According to the minister, current holidays will remain in place until March 31. Both public and private educational institutions will reopen as per routine schedules. Authorities aim to restore normal academic operations without further delay.

The minister stated that academic activities will resume from where they were paused. He emphasized minimizing learning loss caused by the break. Schools have been advised to focus on covering missed syllabus effectively.

Earlier, the Punjab government had announced school closures due to energy concerns linked to the regional conflict involving Iran, Israel, and the United States. The holidays aimed to reduce pressure on energy resources during the crisis.
