Floods in Balochistan

A fresh spell of heavy rain, strong winds, thunder, and hail has lashed more than 30 districts of Balochistan over the past 24 hours, triggering flash floods and widespread disruption. Authorities confirmed at least one fatality as extreme weather conditions damaged infrastructure and disrupted daily life across the province.

Heavy rainfall was recorded in Quetta, Khuzdar, Kalat, Surab, Lasbela, Hub, Gwadar, Qila Abdullah, Zhob, Harnai, Loralai, and several other area, leading to flood-like situations. Low-lying areas were submerged, embankments were damaged, and residents faced severe hardships as water levels rose rapidly.

In Dhadhar city, a 12-year-old girl lost her life after being struck by lightning, while an electricity transformer was also damaged. Communication networks, including mobile and internet services, were disrupted in several districts, isolating affected area from the rest of the province.

Flood alert sounded as heavy rains claim 17 lives in KP districts

Flash floods caused significant destruction in Kachhi district, where eight houses were completely destroyed and several others damaged. Residents were forced to evacuate on their own as official assistance remained limited. Rescue operations were carried out in multiple area , including Qila Abdullah, where stranded passengers and vehicles were safely recovered.

Authorities have imposed restrictions on movement in flood-prone area and placed emergency services on high alert. The disaster management authority has warned that heavy rains and flooding may continue, urging citizens to avoid unnecessary travel and stay away from streams and low-lying areas to prevent further losses.
