The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast widespread rain and thunderstorms across the country from April 5 to 9, 2026. Residents in Punjab, Islamabad, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are expected to experience heavy showers, strong winds, and lightning, while hilly areas may see snowfall. Authorities have urged citizens and farmers to take precautions against potential damage and disruption.
In Punjab, rain and thunderstorms are likely in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, and Lahore. Other districts, including Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Faisalabad, Sargodha, and Multan, may also experience heavy rainfall, gusty winds, and possible urban flooding.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will see similar conditions from April 5 to 9, with rain and storms predicted in Peshawar, Mardan, Nowshera, Charsadda, Swabi, Kohat, Karak, Hangu, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, and Dera Ismail Khan. Mountain districts including Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Battagram, Shangla, Kohistan, Swat, Malakand, Chitral, and Bajaur are also expected to receive rain and strong winds.
In Balochistan, rainfall and thunderstorms are forecasted from April 5 to 7, affecting Quetta, Zhob, Ziarat, Qalat, Khuzdar, Lasbela, Gwadar, Turbat, and Panjgur. Meanwhile, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir may witness rain and snowfall in mountainous regions from April 6 to 9, with a risk of hailstorms and strong gusts.

PMD advised farmers to protect crops and citizens to avoid unnecessary travel. Tourists are warned to stay alert in hilly areas, and residents should remain cautious of power outages, urban flooding, and structural hazards during the storms.
