The 39-year-old all-rounder posted a message on social media clarifying his intentions, following media discussions that had sparked considerable debate. Shakib stated that his attention is fully on cricket, and if given the opportunity, he aims to deliver memorable performances for Bangladesh.

“Right now, my full attention is on cricket. At this final stage of my career, I hope to play for Bangladesh and give my best to create lasting memories for my country,” Shakib wrote. He added that if selected, he will strive to make a significant impact with every match he plays.

Shakib also shared his views on public service beyond sports. While he acknowledged the importance of politics in a country’s development, he emphasized that one can contribute to national progress even without entering politics. “Although achieving things through politics might be easier, it’s not the only way to serve the nation,” he said.

Looking forward, Shakib expressed his hope to conclude his cricket career in the green and red jersey of Bangladesh with pride and joy. He requested the support, prayers, and love of the Bangladeshi public as he continues to pursue his cricketing ambitions.

The cricketer’s statement has reignited excitement among fans, particularly after recent speculation about his retirement and involvement in politics. Shakib’s commitment to cricket, even at this stage of his career, demonstrates his enduring passion and dedication to Bangladesh’s cricketing legacy.
