Pakistan, France express Lebanon concerns

Pakistan and France have expressed concern over repeated ceasefire violations in Lebanon during high-level diplomatic talks. Both sides emphasized the need for full implementation of the ceasefire to ensure regional stability. The discussion highlighted growing international attention on the escalating situation.

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar received a telephone call from French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot, according to the Foreign Office. The French minister appreciated Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts in promoting peace and facilitating dialogue. He also expressed support for Islamabad’s role in regional stability initiatives.

During the conversation, both sides reviewed the evolving regional situation with a focus on Lebanon. They jointly called for strict respect of the ceasefire agreement. Officials stressed that continued violations could further destabilize the region.

The two foreign ministers also reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening Pakistan-France bilateral relations. They agreed to expand cooperation in trade and economic sectors. Both sides emphasized the importance of sustained diplomatic engagement and regular communication.

Meanwhile, broader regional developments continue to draw international concern over Lebanon’s exclusion from ceasefire arrangements. Recent diplomatic efforts aim to prevent further escalation amid ongoing tensions. Pakistan has maintained its position as a facilitator in regional peace initiatives.
