Dar urges breakthrough in US Iran talks

Published on: April 11, 2026 1:04 PM

Pakistan’s foreign minister urged the United States and Iran to engage constructively in peace talks as a U.S. delegation arrived in Islamabad. The call matters as tensions between Washington and Tehran continue to impact regional stability. The appeal directly affects diplomatic efforts involving Pakistan, the United States, and Iran.

Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said Islamabad stands ready to facilitate dialogue between the two sides. He emphasized the need for a “lasting and durable solution” to the ongoing conflict. According to the foreign ministry, Pakistan aims to play a constructive and neutral role.

Meanwhile, the arrival of the U.S. delegation signals a potential opening for renewed diplomatic engagement. Officials have not disclosed details of the talks or their expected duration. However, observers see the visit as an opportunity to reduce tensions through dialogue.

In recent years, relations between the United States and Iran have remained strained over security and political disputes. These tensions have affected regional peace and economic stability. Therefore, countries like Pakistan are increasingly offering mediation to ease hostilities.
