Bilal Maqsood returns to music after long hiatus with ‘O’re Saajna’

Published on: April 14, 2026 9:24 AM

Bilal Maqsood has officially returned to the music scene with his latest romantic single titled ‘O’re Saajna.’ This new release marks a significant and heartfelt creative comeback for the veteran artist after a very long break.

His latest artistic project features a very unique music video inspired by his popular children’s puppet show, Pakkay Dost.

Before the official release, the singer teased the track on Instagram by sharing some behind-the-scenes glimpses of it.

Maqsood shared his personal thoughts on the project through a social media post that captured his true creative spirit.

He wrote: “Wanted to start making songs again. Thought I’d begin with one called ‘O’re Saajna.’

“But honestly didn’t feel like doing the whole acting shaacting this time. So I figured, why not just become my own muppet instead?”

The musician highlighted how effectively the muppet version of himself was able to convey the deep emotions of the song.

‘O’re Saajna’ is a slow and romantic composition that is built around very soft and catchy acoustic guitar melodies.

This specific sound is highly reminiscent of the signature style that defined his successful career in the earlier years. As a founding member of the iconic band Strings, he delivered timeless love songs like ‘Sar Kiye Yeh Pahar’.

Fans will also remember his other classic hits, such as ‘Sohniyae’ and the very popular ‘Anjaane’ from that era. The new music video carries a similar emotional depth by portraying a muppet version of the singer named BM.

The puppet character is seen reminiscing about a lost love, which is depicted as a fellow puppet in the video.

This nostalgic story follows the puppet as he reflects on a partner that he unfortunately had to leave far behind.

The visuals are set against the beautiful backdrop of the Karachi coastline and the busy streets of the city.

This artistic choice blends a sense of deep nostalgia with a very playful and imaginative aesthetic for modern viewers.

The track also reflects his ongoing passion for the Urdu language, which he promotes through his various creative works. He has been actively advocating for the national language by creating high-quality content for the younger generation. With this release, he brings together his two creative worlds of music and Urdu into one single artistic expression.

Many parents on Instagram praised his continued dedication to producing children’s programming that is both educational and very fun. However, Bilal Maqsood clarified to his followers that this particular song is intended to be enjoyed by adult audiences too.
