Officials said that special focus will be placed on strengthening economic and trade ties, accelerating CPEC-related projects, and exploring new avenues of cooperation in infrastructure, energy, agriculture, and connectivity. The FO described the visit as part of the “longstanding tradition of high-level exchanges” between the two countries, highlighting that it comes at a significant time as Pakistan and China mark the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations.

The statement further emphasised that the visit reflects the “deep commitment” of both sides to further enhance their strategic cooperative partnership. Pakistan and China have consistently described their relationship as an “all-weather friendship,” with CPEC remaining a central pillar of bilateral engagement.
President Zardari’s trip follows previous high-level engagements aimed at expanding investment and development cooperation. During his last visit to China, multiple memorandums of understanding were signed between Pakistani provincial governments and Chinese business partners in sectors such as agriculture, energy, defence production, rail infrastructure, and farmer training initiatives.
These agreements were later planned to be extended across other provinces, indicating a broader effort to decentralise and expand cooperation under the CPEC framework.
