Imran Khan meeting plea rejected by court

Published on: May 5, 2026 7:09 PM

The court directed the petitioner to pay a 10,000-rupee fine. It ordered that the amount be deposited in the District Bar Rawalpindi dispensary. The court said the funds should be used for treatment of poor patients. Officials said the ruling aims to discourage misuse of legal process.

In its remarks, the court stated that meeting procedures at Adiala Jail have already been defined. It added that the Islamabad High Court has set clear guidelines on the matter. The court said trial courts cannot issue conflicting orders on such issues. It stressed adherence to established legal channels.

The court further noted that Imran Khan is currently on bail in the GHQ attack case. It said he is not in judicial custody at this stage. The judge observed that similar applications had been filed earlier. It added that the petitioner should approach the relevant forum instead of the court.

The application had been filed by lawyer Faisal Malik earlier in the day. It sought permission for a meeting with the PTI founder in connection with the case. The court, however, dismissed the plea after hearing arguments. Officials said the ruling reinforces procedural discipline in ongoing cases.
