PM Shehbaz, Qatar leader discuss regional peace efforts

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone conversation with Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani to discuss the evolving regional situation and ongoing peace initiatives. Both leaders reviewed current developments affecting regional stability and exchanged views on diplomatic engagement. Moreover, they emphasized the importance of continued cooperation for peace in the region.

According to official statements, both sides assessed regional peace efforts and highlighted the need for constructive dialogue among all parties involved in ongoing diplomatic processes. They agreed that sustained engagement remains essential for preventing further escalation in sensitive areas. Consequently, the discussion reflected shared concerns over maintaining stability through peaceful means.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong and longstanding brotherly relations with Qatar and appreciated Doha’s consistent support for Pakistan’s diplomatic and peace-related initiatives. He expressed gratitude for Qatar’s constructive role in encouraging dialogue and cooperation in regional matters. Furthermore, he highlighted the importance of continued coordination between both countries.

During the conversation, both leaders stressed that all stakeholders should remain actively engaged in diplomatic efforts to ensure the success of ongoing peace initiatives. They agreed that regional stability depends on continuous communication and mutual understanding among involved parties. Therefore, they underscored the need for practical steps toward long-term peace.

The Pakistani prime minister also conveyed warm greetings to the Amir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and expressed anticipation for his upcoming visit to Pakistan. He stated that the visit would further strengthen bilateral ties and expand cooperation in multiple areas. In addition, both sides expressed confidence in deepening their partnership.

Officials described the exchange as positive and constructive, reflecting the shared commitment of Pakistan and Qatar to regional peace and diplomatic cooperation. Both governments reiterated their intention to continue working closely on regional and international issues. As a result, the conversation highlighted growing alignment on efforts to promote stability.
