Pakistan calls envoy consultation amid crisis

Published on: May 13, 2026 5:44 PM

Pakistan has decided to consult its ambassadors posted in key countries amid rising regional tensions. The move comes in response to the ongoing conflict involving the United States and Israel against Iran. Officials say the consultation aims to safeguard Pakistan’s national interests during the escalating crisis.

According to sources, a mini conference of Pakistani envoys will be held in Islamabad over the next two days. Ambassadors from key Middle Eastern and Western capitals have been invited to participate. The meeting will focus on evolving security and diplomatic challenges in the region.

Envoys from the United States, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman and Jordan are expected to attend. Officials say discussions will assess the regional impact of the Iran-related conflict. The consultation will also review Pakistan’s diplomatic positioning in sensitive geopolitical conditions.

Furthermore, the government plans to evaluate Pakistan’s potential role as a mediator in regional conflicts. Recommendations from the conference will be submitted to policymakers for further action. Officials say the aim is to ensure a coordinated diplomatic response to emerging threats.
