Match officials announced for Australia-Pakistan ODI series

The Pakistan Cricket Board has announced the match officials for the upcoming three-match Australia-Pakistan One Day International (ODI) series, scheduled to be played from May 30 to June 4 in Rawalpindi and Lahore.

The series will feature experienced international officials from the ICC Elite Panel, ensuring high-standard officiating for the bilateral contest between the two top cricketing nations.

Sri Lanka’s experienced match referee Ranjan Madugalle will oversee all three ODIs as match referee, maintaining discipline and compliance with international cricket regulations throughout the series.

For on-field umpiring duties, ICC Elite Panel umpires Ahsan Raza, Richard Kettleborough and Kumar Dharmasena have been appointed for different matches in the series.

The first ODI, scheduled in Rawalpindi on May 30, will feature Kumar Dharmasena alongside emerging ICC umpire Asif Yaqoob as the on-field umpires.

The second ODI, to be played on June 2 at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, will see Faisal Khan Afridi and Richard Kettleborough officiating on the field. Afridi is a member of the ICC International Panel of Umpires and has officiated in several international fixtures.

The third and final ODI on June 4 in Lahore will be supervised on-field by Ahsan Raza and Kumar Dharmasena. ICC International Panel member Nasser Hussain has been named as the fourth umpire for the concluding match.

The series is part of Pakistan’s busy international home season and is expected to attract significant attention from cricket fans, as Australia tours Pakistan for another high-profile limited-overs contest.

Cricket boards of both countries have expressed confidence in the appointed officials, highlighting their experience in handling high-pressure international matches.

The selection of elite umpires underscores the importance of the series, which will also serve as preparation for upcoming ICC tournaments and bilateral commitments. Fans are eagerly awaiting the contest, with matches set to be played across two major cricket venues in Pakistan.
