During proceedings in Islamabad, Advocate Salman Akram Raja informed the court that Salman Safdar was suffering from an eye illness and required medical examination abroad. He requested additional time in connection with appeals challenging the refusal to hear applications seeking suspension of Imran Khan’s sentences.
According to the request presented before the court, Salman Safdar is currently unable to pursue the appeals urgently due to his medical condition. The legal team sought a delay to allow the senior lawyer to undergo treatment and assessment.
The development comes amid ongoing legal proceedings involving Imran Khan, who continues to face multiple cases and appeals in various courts.
Separately, Salman Akram Raja recently alleged that Imran Khan was being subjected to mistreatment while in custody and claimed that the former premier had suffered serious health complications, including damage to one eye. He also expressed concerns regarding the health and wellbeing of Khan’s wife, Bushra Bibi.
Raja further stated that court orders related to meetings and access to the former prime minister were allegedly not being fully implemented. However, authorities have not publicly responded to these allegations.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leadership has repeatedly raised concerns about Imran Khan’s health and detention conditions, while government officials have previously rejected claims of mistreatment.

The latest request for postponement may affect the timeline of ongoing appeals connected to Khan’s legal cases, which remain under judicial review.
