Punjab is expected to experience hot and dry weather after the recent rain-producing weather system moved away from the region. Following a brief period of cooler conditions and scattered rainfall, sunshine returned across many cities on Sunday morning, signaling the start of a gradual rise in temperatures throughout the province.
The Meteorological Department has forecast predominantly dry weather across Punjab during the next 24 hours, with temperatures continuing to climb. Officials expect minimum temperatures to remain around 26 degrees Celsius, while maximum temperatures could reach nearly 38 degrees Celsius in several areas, increasing discomfort during daytime hours.

Moreover, weather experts do not anticipate any new rain-bearing system entering Punjab in the coming days. As a result, prolonged sunshine and limited cloud cover may further intensify heat conditions across the province. Residents are likely to experience warmer afternoons, particularly in urban centers where heat tends to build more rapidly.
Meanwhile, very hot weather is also expected to prevail across Sindh and southern Balochistan over the next several hours. However, some relief may be available in Kashmir, the Potohar region and northeastern Balochistan, where partly cloudy conditions are forecast during the afternoon and evening period.

Authorities have advised citizens to take precautionary measures as temperatures rise. People are encouraged to avoid unnecessary exposure to direct sunlight, especially during peak afternoon hours, and to increase water intake throughout the day. Health experts stress that staying hydrated can help reduce the risk of heat-related illnesses during the warmer spell.
According to the latest forecasts, minimum temperatures are expected to remain around 24 degrees Celsius in Islamabad, 26 in Lahore and Peshawar, and 30 in Karachi. Meanwhile, cooler conditions are likely to persist in northern and elevated areas, with temperatures around 20 degrees in Muzaffarabad, 18 in Quetta, 15 in Gilgit and 14 in Murree.
