The controversy emerged after Rubina Khan, a former associate of late choreographer Saroj Khan, claimed during a recent interview that Madhuri was four months pregnant while shooting the popular dance number from the acclaimed film Devdas.
The statement quickly gained attention on social media, with fans expressing surprise over the revelation more than two decades after the film’s release. The song, featuring Madhuri Dixit and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, remains one of Bollywood’s most celebrated dance performances.
Addressing the claim, Madhuri dismissed the speculation during a media interaction. Laughing off the suggestion, she pointed to the timeline of events surrounding the birth of her eldest son, Aryan Nene.
“Aryan was born in 2003, so the calculation can be done from there,” the actress said, indicating that the claim did not align with the actual dates.
Madhuri’s eldest son, Aryan Nene, was born on March 17, 2003, while Devdas was released in 2002. Her response effectively countered the allegation and put an end to the speculation surrounding the film’s production period.
Madhuri married Dr. Shriram Nene in 1999 and later moved to the United States. The couple welcomed their second son, Ryan Nene, in 2005.
