UoG unveils MY UoG app, Smart Assist to enhance student services

Published on: June 2, 2026 12:48 PM

GUJRAT – The University of Gujrat has launched the MY UoG app and UoG Smart Assist, designed to provide students with seamless access to academic and administrative services. The initiative reflects the varsity’s commitment to leveraging technology for student convenience, making admissions and campus services more accessible than ever before.

A meeting chaired by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Zahoor‑ul‑Haq, Tamgha‑e‑Imtiaz, was held at Hafiz Hayat Campus on Monday where heads of departments and chairpersons were briefed on the new platforms. He described the app and SmartAssist as a milestone in delivering integrated facilities to students and parents alike.

Director IT Zahid Raza highlighted that the development of both platforms was entirely a student-led project. Teams from Computer Science, Information Technology and Management Sciences collaborated to design and implement key features. Students Muhammad Ammar, Muhammad Jabran Umar, Muhammad Bilal, Muhammad Talha Khalid, Muhammad Naeem and Sajjad Ali played a pivotal role in bringing the project to completion.

The MY UoG app consolidates the student portal, faculty portal and admission portal into a single platform. It enables real-time tracking of university transport buses, easy access to certificates, NoCs, degrees, mark sheets, challan forms and other documents without delays. Admissions across departments can now be completed conveniently through both the university website and the mobile app. Meanwhile, UoG SmartAssist — integrated with AI — simplifies the admission process by offering guidance to students and parents directly via WhatsApp.

Acknowledging the efforts of the student developers, Prof. Dr. Zahoor Ul Haq presented them with appreciation certificates and announced a one-semester fee waiver as an honorarium. He noted that the project marks an important step toward automation and reflects the university’s vision of empowering students through innovation
