The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority has announced an increase of Rs. 1.19 per unit under the April 2026 fuel price adjustment, while also approving a reduction of Rs. 1.98 per unit under the quarterly adjustment. According to the notification, the fuel price adjustment will apply across the country, including K-Electric consumers, and will be reflected in June electricity bills. On the other hand, the quarterly adjustment will provide relief of Rs. 1.98 per unit for three months (June, July, and August), benefiting consumers nationwide except lifeline users. The quarterly adjustment is expected to provide over Rs. 67 billion in relief, while the fuel adjustment had been requested at Rs. 1.73 per unit increase by CPPA.
