PHF launches nationwide coaching education programme

Published on: June 8, 2026 4:33 AM

The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF), in collaboration with the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB), has launched a comprehensive Coaching Education Programme aimed at establishing a modern, standardized and internationally aligned coaching system across the country.

The programme, which forms part of PHF’s broader strategy for the revival and long-term development of hockey, will begin on July 5, 2026, at the Islamabad Sports Complex.

According to a PHF press release issued here Sunday, the initiative will be implemented in phases to ensure participation from all regions of Pakistan. In the first phase, coaches from Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Azad Jammu & Kashmir will take part in the programme.

The federation said the project is designed to strengthen the foundation of hockey development by introducing a unified coaching framework, improving technical expertise and promoting consistent coaching methodologies at grassroots, developmental and elite levels.

PHF has invited nominations of eligible coaches through provincial hockey associations, sports departments, educational institutions and other relevant stakeholders. Interested candidates can submit their applications through a dedicated online form available on the official websites of PHF and PSB.

To encourage wider participation, boarding and lodging facilities for selected candidates will be jointly arranged by PHF and PSB.
