Civil, military leadership attend funeral of soldiers martyred in chopper crash

The funeral prayer for the soldiers, who embraced martyrdom in tragic MI-17 helicopter crash in Muzaffarabad, was offered on Thursday at Chaklala Garrison, Rawalpindi, which was attended by the Honourable Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, COAS & CDF, Deputy Prime Minster and Foreign Minister, Minister of Defence, Minister of Information, senior civil and military officials, relatives of the Shuhada, and segments of the society.

Earlier Funeral Services of two shaheed Christian soldiers was offered at Christ Church, Rawalpindi which was also attended by the political and military leadership.

Speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister remarked that the martyrs’ devotion to duty, professionalism, and commitment to safeguarding the motherland will remain a source of inspiration for future generations. He emphasized that the sacrifices of Pakistan’s Armed Forces for peace, security, and national sovereignty can never be forgotten, reaffirming the nation’s unwavering support for the families of the martyrs during this difficult time.

The martyrs will be laid to rest in their respective native towns with full military honours.
