The Pakistan Cricket Board has decided not to publicly disclose details of its central contracts. Officials said the number of contracted players and their categories will remain confidential. The move affects national cricketers and marks a significant change in the board’s contract policy.
According to the PCB, information regarding player categories and contract allocations will not be released publicly. The board considers the distribution of contracts a selection matter and intends to keep those decisions internal. As a result, the structure of the new central contract system will remain largely undisclosed.
Meanwhile, the board has introduced fresh conditions for players awarded central contracts. Sources said contracted cricketers will be required to participate in domestic competitions according to their designated track. These requirements are aimed at ensuring player availability and strengthening the domestic cricket structure.
Players have reportedly been informed about expected domestic participation targets. Sources indicated that contracted players may be required to play up to five first-class matches and up to 10 List A games. Furthermore, players will be expected to remain available for domestic cricket when not involved in international assignments.
The revised policy also allows centrally contracted players to remain eligible across all three formats. Sources said the PCB could select players from any track whenever team requirements demand. The changes reflect the board’s broader effort to improve flexibility in player management and increase engagement in domestic competitions.
