Panjgur: Security forces have foiled a major terrorist plot in Balochistan’s Panjgur district, recovering a large cache of weapons, explosives and communication equipment during an intelligence-based operation, according to security sources.
The operation was conducted in the Jirak area of Panjgur after intelligence reports indicated the presence of terrorist elements in the region.
During the raid, security personnel recovered a significant quantity of weapons, explosive material and communication devices. Authorities also seized four rocket fuses and several improvised explosive devices (IEDs) from a vehicle.
According to security sources, the recovered explosives were allegedly intended for use in a large-scale terrorist attack. The timely action by security forces is said to have prevented potential loss of life and property.
Officials described the operation as another step in ongoing efforts to counter terrorism and maintain peace and stability in Balochistan. They reaffirmed the commitment of security forces to eliminating threats posed by militant groups operating in the province.
The development comes weeks after an intelligence-based operation in Panjgur in which six militants were killed. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was conducted on the night of June 3-4 following reports about the presence of militants linked to the group identified by authorities as Fitna al Hindustan.
The military said security forces engaged multiple militant hideouts during the operation, resulting in an intense exchange of fire in which six militants were killed.
