Maryam Nawaz urges skilled youth to promote Pakistan globally

Published on: June 24, 2026 4:07 PM

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has called on young Pakistanis preparing for overseas employment to become ambassadors of their country by showcasing professionalism, skill and responsible conduct. Addressing graduates of the Parwaz Card training programme in Lahore, she said their achievements reflected the potential of Pakistan’s youth and highlighted the importance of representing the nation positively on the global stage.

Congratulating the trainees, Maryam said the programme was designed to equip young people with practical skills that would improve their employment prospects and help them support their families. She noted that the participants had demonstrated a strong sense of responsibility throughout their training, adding that their dedication would play an important role in shaping successful careers both at home and abroad.

Meanwhile, the chief minister said the government is actively preparing young people for international job markets through modern and demand-driven training. She revealed that more than 500,000 youth are currently receiving training in their preferred fields, while authorities continue to improve facilities and resources to make Pakistan’s workforce more competitive and better suited for overseas opportunities.

Maryam emphasized that skilled workers enjoy greater respect, better career growth and stronger earning potential than untrained labourers. Therefore, she said, investing in technical education and professional development remains a key priority. She added that skilled youth can secure brighter futures, strengthen their families financially and make meaningful contributions to Pakistan’s economic progress.

Furthermore, she urged participants to uphold Pakistan’s dignity, honour and national interests wherever they work. According to Maryam, every young Pakistani working abroad becomes a representative of the country and contributes to strengthening its image internationally. She described this responsibility as an important form of public diplomacy that can help highlight Pakistan’s positive qualities around the world.

Discussing regional affairs, Maryam praised Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts during recent tensions involving Iran, the United States and Israel. She said Pakistan consistently supports peace and stability and played a constructive role in reducing conflict in the region. Expressing confidence in the country’s future, she encouraged young people to use their talent, knowledge and character to help build a stronger and more respected Pakistan.
