Rupee marginally up against dollar

The Rupee on Friday appreciated by 1 paisa against the US Dollar in interbank trading and closed at Rs 278.05, compared to the previous day’s closing of Rs 278.06. According to the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the buying and selling rates of the dollar in the open market were recorded at Rs 279.00 and Rs 279.15, respectively. The price of the Euro against the rupee decreased by Rs 0.04 and closed at Rs 317.89 from the previous day’s closing of Rs 317.93, according to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP). The Japanese Yen went up by 1 paisa and closed at Rs 1.72, whereas the exchange rate of the British Pound witnessed a decline of Rs 0.11 and closed at Rs 372.95 compared to the previous day’s Rs 373.06. The exchange rate of the Emirate Dirham stood stagnant to close at Rs 75.71, while the Saudi Riyal went up by 01 paisa, closing at Rs 74.06.
