Rain, snowfall likely to continue across country for the next 48-hours

LAHORE: New spells of rain, snowfall have increased the severity of cold weather in different parts of the country including Lahore and Islamabad.

Parts of Murree, Shigar, the various Galyaat and Malam Jabba witnessed snowfall meanwhile Mansehra and Swat also saw a spell of rain.

According to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) thunderstorms with snowfall are expected over hilly areas of the country including upper FATA, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhuwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir meanwhile rain is also predicted for isolated parts of upper Punjab (Lahore, Sargodha, Rawalpindi and Gujranwala division).

Dry and cold weather is expected to continue in other parts of the country.

Recorded temperatures for several parts of the country are as follows: Punjab: Murree 20, Islamabad( Zero point 22, Saidpur 15, Golra 12, Bokra 08), Rawalpindi (Chaklala 19, Shamsabad 16), R.Y khan 18, Multan 15, Khanpur 13, Bahawalpur (City13, A/P 08), Sialkot (Cannt 14, AP 13), Sahiwal 11, Jhang 09, Lahore (AP 09, City 08), Noorpurthal, Kasur 07, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Jehlum, Joharabad, Mangla 06, T.T Singh , Shorkot 05, Kamra, Okara, Gujrat, Sargodha, Kot Addu 04, Bhakkar 03, D.G.Khan, M.B.Din, Layyah 02, KP: Malamjabba 36, Chirat 13, Pattan, Balakot, Kakul 07, Pashawar, Saidu Sharif 06, Dir 04, Lower Dir, Bannu, Kalam 03, Kashmir: Rawalakot 28, Kotli 24, Muzaffarabad 19, Garidupatta 17, Sindh: Dadu, Jaccobabad 02, Sukkur 01, GB: Skardu 03, Astore 02, Balochistan: Barkhan 03.Snowfall (inch): Malamjabba 7, Astore 2 and Kalam 1.
