Mushahid Hussain quits PML-Q, rejoins Nawaz league

Published on: February 4, 2018 5:44 PM

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed joined PML-Nawaz after his meeting with party spearhead Nawaz Sharif on Sunday.

In a meeting held at Jati Umra, Mushahid met Nawaz and other party leaders after which he decided to join the party. The Senator had submitted his resignation to PML-Q President Shujaat Hussain prior to the meeting.

The Senator, who left PML-N in favour of former president Pervaiz Musharraf during 1999 military coup, said that he has rejoined the party on Nawaz’s invitation.

He also rejected claims that he has been assured of a senate ticket. PML-N chief Nawaz welcomed Mushahid to the party saying that he ‘had come back home’.

Mushahid served as an Information Minister during Nawaz’s government from 1997-99, while he was elected as a senator from Islamabad on a technocrat seat during Musharraf’s reign.
