Nisar refuses to work under Maryam Nawaz’s leadership

Published on: February 10, 2018 4:02 PM

TAXILA: Former interior minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has on Saturday said that he would not work under the leadership of Maryam Nawaz.

Speaking to a press conference, Nisar said that he is willing to work under the leadership of PML-N President Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif but he is not ‘politically orphaned’ and would not accept commands from ‘juniors’ like Maryam Nawaz.

The PML-N leader added that he has certain concerns and reservations pertaining the Nawaz-led party, but he has never criticised either Nawaz or daughter Maryam. Nisar stated that he has sidelined himself from the party since Nawaz did not consider his advise on several matters.

Speaking about personal attacks on judges through media, Nisar said that attacks on judiciary would further deteriorate the situation. He also condemned political figures for name calling one another via TV channels.

Nisar also asked PML-N leaders to convene Central Executive Committee meeting on the issue of Dawn leaks.
