Pakistan much improved compared to past: Mushahiddullah

Published on: April 9, 2018 3:02 PM

ISLAMABAD: Senator Mushahidullah Khan, Minister for Climate Change, has remarked that Pakistan’s situation is much better now compared to the past with improvement in every sector under Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz government.

Talking to a private news channel, he said that former Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif was facing punishment for setting the country on the path of development.

The country has always progressed during the PML-N governments and we have respected the mandate of other political parties in provinces, he said.

The senator added that although people of the country were not accepting the disqualification of their beloved leader, Nawaz Sharif accepted the court’s verdict; but by showing reservations on the decision he has used his constitutional right.

He stated that PML-N wanted accountability but it should be across the board and without any bias, adding that people had the right to hold the politicians accountable by their votes.

Answering a question, he said that we can progress only by implementation of the constitution and supremacy of the law in the country and no one should be above the law.

He said results of all by-elections were proofs that people had rejected the politics of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI).

He said Shehbaz Sharif was elected party president because of his good performance and devotion. He also said that Maryam Nawaz was an educated and bold lady and had proved herself a good politician.
