Former PM Nawaz Sharif, daughter Maryam Nawaz head to London as Kulsoom Nawaz’s health deteriorates

Published on: April 18, 2018 11:24 AM

ISLAMABAD: Former Premier Nawaz Sharif left for London today (Wednesday) to visit his ailing wife Kulsoom Nawaz. He was accompanied by daughter Maryam Nawaz and his son-in-law Capt. (retd) Safdar.

Begum Kulsoom Nawaz was diagnosed with Lymphoma (a cancer of the lymph nodes) and her situation deteriorated again on Tuesday when she was re-admitted to the hospital.

Both Maryam Nawaz and Nawaz Sharif are expected to return on the 22nd of April, and have requested exemptions from the accountability court from Wednesday to Friday.

The two PML-N leaders had planned to address gatherings in Lala Musa, Sahiwal and Mansehra on the 20th, the 21st, and the 22nd of April respectively. However, all three rallies have been postponed.
