‘Nawaz more cunning and opportunistic than seems’: Zardari

Published on: April 30, 2018 9:02 PM

LAHORE: Pakistan People Party (PPP) co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari on Monday said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nawaz Sharif is far more cunning and opportunistic than he seems.

According to sources, during a party meeting Zardari affirmed his tense relationship with Nawaz Sharif, who had taken PPP on board to agree over the networking of democracy, constitution and civilian supremacy. Zardari claimed that Sharif kept PPP busy in politics, and kept busy in trading behind its back.

Zardari added that Nawaz had sold PPP on every occasion, when Zardari had maintained a relationship of goodwill gestures. He said that Nawaz had taken advantage of PPP’s friendliness, but now “he will suffer” as PPP will not join hands with him anymore.

Former president said that Nawaz had asked PPP to clash with the establishment but instead, “he was the one who shook hands with them.” Zardari revealed that Sharif had made a deal with Musharraf behind PPP’s back, allowing him to escape from the treason case.
