Caretaker govt shouldn’t be making new appointments, says Khuhro

Published on: June 15, 2018 7:31 PM

LARKANA: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Sindh President Nisar Ahmed Khuhro on Friday said that Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) allowing an un-elected caretaker government to make new appointments seems to be an act of “malafide intentions”.

“Caretaker government should not have the right of making new appointments and it should be given to the elected government,” Khuhro added while talking to media persons and PPP activists at his residence here on Friday.

He said ECP created a question mark on holding free and fair elections by banning elected government to make new appointments and then permitting caretaker governments to make fresh appointments.

Talking jibes at former president General Pervaiz Musharraf, Khuhro said “coward” Musharraf did not return to the country despite facilitation by the Supreme Court and demanded that court should now issue red warrants against him to bring the dictator back through Interpol to face the charges in the relevant courts.

Khuhro said that Imran Khan also facilitated his friend Zulfi Bukhari to go abroad who was wanted by National Accountability Bureau (NAB), adding that people are identified through friends. He question if Imran Khan will continue to “help all criminals of Pakistan to flee”.

The PPP leader claimed that the people of Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) are “weeping” after forecasting their defeat in the upcoming general elections and are hoping for postponement of elections.

He said “we salute the masses who have told GDA before elections that they will not succeed.”
