Will any govt resolve water shortage? Shahid Afridi

Published on: June 25, 2018 2:37 PM

Renowned Cricketer Shahid Afridi on Monday raised concern over  failure of authorities to solve water shortage issue in Pakistan’s financial hub and the city of lights.

In his tweet he said that it’s been 70 years since the formation of Pakistan, despite Karachi being one of the important cities, it has been home to undying issues.

However, he added many governments have come and gone, yet the water shortage has not been resolved and the people continue to suffer.

— Shahid Afridi (@SAfridiOfficial) June 25, 2018

Previously on June 23 (Saturday), residents of Karachi were seen getting water from the hydrant by forming long ques.

Sources say that the water levels at the Hub dam have dropped down to low level due to which it has led to water shortage in the city. Keenjhar lake (Indus river) and Hub dam are the main sources of water for Karachi.

If situation continues like this, Pakistan may face drought by 2025.
