PML-N playing ‘controversial’ narrative ahead of elections: Fawad Chaudhry

Published on: July 2, 2018 3:41 PM

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry on Monday claimed that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is trying to make the upcoming elections controversial.

Chaudhry while addressing a press conference accused PML-N of playing the ‘controversy card’ ahead of the elections. PTI leader expressed concern over PML-N Quaid’s recent remarks and statements.

Chaudhry claimed that the party was making a concentrated effort to inculcate the controversial card within the masses before the election day.

PTI spokesperson added “We strongly condemn PML-N’s narrative aiming at making the election controversial”.

He added that Nawaz Sharif and his party were trying to make the military and judiciary’s role as controversial in the elections.

Chaudhry also asserted that Pakistan’s placement on the grey-list of Financial Action Task Force (FATF)  on Money laundering was a result of PML-N’s anti army, judiciary narrative.

PTI spokesperson went on claiming that the former premier was responsible for the inflation storm, burdening the public with a price hike in petroleum products.

Chaudhry added that PTI will not accept any delay in elections under any circumstance.

During the press conference, Chaudhry urged the protesters from Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) to vote for PTI, assuring them that PTI would see to FATA’s merger process if voted to power.

He added “We sympathise with FATA’s demands, but at the moment the biggest priority is to ensure that general elections are held on July 25 as scheduled”.
