Spider-Man co-creator Steve Ditko passes away

Co-creator of Spider Man and Doctor Strange Steve Ditko on Friday passed away at the age of 90.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the comic artist was found dead on June 29 at his apartment. Officials said that the artist was likely dead from a couple of days.

Renowned comic artist was known for co-creating Spider Man signature characteristics like costume, web shooters and the color theme.

Originally Jack Kirby had come up with the designs, which Lee was not content with.

Spider Man become one of the most popular Marvel Characters after its debut in Amazing Fantasy #15 in 1962.

Following popularity Marvel studios launched the Amazing Spider Man, the character’s first standalone series under Ditko and Lee.

Ditko’s second co-creation with Lee made a debut in 1963 as Doctor Strange.

The renowned artist has worked with Charlton Comics after his stint with Marvel. Later on Ditko moved to Marvel Competitor DC comics in 1968.

During his time with DC Comics, Ditko created the Creeper, minor Batman villain who made several appearances in the DC continuity in 2017.

The comic artist also created Squirrel Girl, Mr A and Captain Atom.
