PPP nominates Murad Shah for Sindh CM, Agha Siraj for speaker

Published on: August 11, 2018 6:05 PM

Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) has nominated Murad Ali Shah as its candidate for the Sindh chief minister and Agha Siraj Durrani for the provincial assembly speaker.

Moreover, Rehana Leghari will be the PPP’s nominee for the deputy speaker position, PPP Sindh Parliamentary committee announced on Saturday.

The decision regarding the nominations was made during a meeting which was presided by the PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

Both the leaders, Agha Siraj and Murad Ali Shah, served in the same capacity in the PPP’s previous government in Sindh.

PPP got 76 seats in the Sindh Asssembly in July 25 polls enabling them to have their candidates easily elected on the top slots.

The Sindh Assembly’s inaugural session would be held on August 13.
