PTI announces 23-member Punjab cabinet

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) announced names of its 23-member Punjab cabinet on Sunday.

Prime Minister Imran Khan, who was accompanied by Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, conducted interviews of 30 candidates at his Bani Gala residence, after which he lined-up a 23-member cabinet.

According to a PTI press release, Mahmood-ur-Rashid will take charge of Housing and Urban Development department, Dr Yasmeen Rashid was assigned Health department, Aleem Khan was handed the Local Government and Community Development department, Samiullah Chaudhry was assigned Food department, Mohsin Leghari was assigned Irrigation department, Makhdoom Hashim Bakht takes charge of Finance and Fayyaz-ul-Hasan Chohan will head the Information and Culture department.

Moreover, Excise and Taxation and Narcotics Control department was assigned to Muhammad Sabtain, Sardar Asif Nikai and Hafiz Mumtaz Ahmed, Higher Education department was assigned to Hafiz Amar Yasir, Yasir Humayun Sarfraz, Punjab Industries, Commerce and Investment department was assigned to Mian Aslam and School Education department was assigned to Murad Raas.

Youth and Sports department was assigned to Aslam Iqbal, Amar Yasir, Hafiz Mumtaz Ahmed, Taimoor Khan, Revenue department to Raja Rashid Hafeez, Labour and Human Resource to Ansar Majeed Niazi and Law and Parliamentary Affairs was assigned to Raja Basharat.

Muhammad Akram Chaudhry was appointed Secretary to the Punjab CM Usman Buzdar.

The provincial cabinet members will take oath on Monday.
