Pique rubbishes rumours of spat with Messi via Twitter post

Published on: October 5, 2018 2:42 PM

Barcelona defender Gerard Pique on Thursday uploaded a picture with captain Lionel Messi on Twitter, brushing aside all rumours of a possible spat between the two veterans.

Earlier this week, Spanish paper El Chiringuito claimed that Pique and Messi had a ‘bust-up’ over several differences regarding how the team needs to be performing.

The paper claimed that Pique was not happy with Messi’s captaincy and believed the Argentine needed to do more as in-charge of the Blaugranes. On the other hand, Messi was not pleased with Pique’s defensive performances and wanted him to sort a few things out.

Pique, who keeps a good eye on everything that’s happening on social media, uploading a picture of himself with Messi a day after Barcelona thrashed Tottenham Hotspurs 4-2 at Wembley in the UEFA Champions League group stage fixture.

The two can be seen smiling and having a good time, rubbishing claims of a possible bust-up.

Barcelona beat Tottenham 4-2 at Wembley thanks to a brace from Messi and a goal each from Philippe Coutinho and Ivan Rakitic.
