Jahangir Tareen’s son Ali Tareen shows interest in buying PSL’s sixth team

Published on: November 29, 2018 4:59 PM

LODHRAN: Ali Tareen son of renowned leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Janhgeer Tareen Khan has shown interest in buying the sixth team of Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Ali Tareen Khan while talking to media confirmed his interest in buying the sixth team of the PSL previously known as Multan Sultan.

“I want to buy the team for the fourth edition of PSL and for this reason I have had two to three meetings with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) officials in Lahore. I have completed the initial work for a tender for PSL 4”.

Earlier, PCB had terminated the contract of Schon Group after it failed to submit bank guarantees and other financial obligations. Currently PCB is running the sixth team.

Ali Tareen said that if he wins the bid to the sixth team, he will continue with the same name (Multan) as it was before. However, he will have little say in selection of the squad as the draft and retention process has already taken place.
