Polio workers

Published on: April 12, 2019 2:15 AM

Sir: I pay tribute to the polio workers of my city who are facing such a tough time during the polio vaccination days. These great people trudge through dangerous terrain and adverse weather conditions to ensure that every kid in the country is administered the polio vaccination in return they receive nothing.

Recently, I met to lady workers and a policeman who were on duty. While talking to them, I came to know that how helpless they are. The ladies disclosed that they are being paid only Rs 2500 for four days and the poor policeman is paid Rs 1000 for three days duty. Further, he informed he was called from Bela to Hub which distance about 150 km with no TA/DA.

They expressed that people attitude and rebuke sting them. Moreover, a lecturer of our college was asked to perform the polio duty, I am surprised why and how DC compels a noble person to go door to door?

We hope and suggest the authority concern to employ a particular team for the polio and not to force or constrain the government teachers/lectures and poor ladies who are employee in government hospital. Forcing or constraining is a violation, isn’t?
