‘Life in a Metro’ sequel titled ‘Ludo’ to release in January 2020

Published on: May 21, 2019 2:06 AM

Reality show judge and director Anurag Basu may have finalised the title for his next film – a sequel to his film ‘Life in A Metro’, reports suggest.

A BollywoodHungama report claimed the makers want to release the film next year in January and have decided on a tentative title – ‘Ludo’. The tentative release date of the film is January 24, 2020, it added.

Fatima Sana Shaikh, Rajkummar Rao, Abhishek Bachchan, Sanya Malhotra and Pankaj Tripathi have been shooting for the film.

Earlier it was reported that Anurag Basu had roped in Abhishek Bachchan, Sanya Malhotra and Rajkummar Rao for the film, which the director said was not a sequel to ‘Life In A Metro’.

“It has multiple plots, but it is not a sequel to ‘Life in a Metro’. The genre and story are totally different and fresh. We’ve yet to decide the title and will figure the release date only after we wrap up the film. It features Bachchan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Rao and Pankaj Tripathi in the lead,” he had said last year.

Starring Irrfan Khan, Konkona Sen, Kangana Ranaut, Shilpa Shetty, Shiney Ahuja and Kay Kay Menon among others, the 2007 ensemble drama was about push and pull of living in cosmopolitan India.

Basu’s last outing, ‘Jagga Jasoos’ that featured Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif, proved to a major disappointment at the box office. The film opened to mixed reviews and had a hit music album.
