PESHAWAR – The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has announced a major development push for the fiscal year 2025–26, allocating massive funds for 2,159 projects across multiple sectors. Out of these, 810 are brand-new initiatives aimed at boosting infrastructure and services across the province.

According to the provincial finance department, the road infrastructure sector will receive the highest share of the budget. A total of 221 new road projects are planned, reflecting the government’s strong focus on improving connectivity and transportation.

The health sector will also see substantial investment, with 93 new schemes approved. Additionally, 69 projects will focus on water supply, and 60 schemes will improve municipal service delivery in both urban and rural areas.

Other key sectors include education and forestry, each receiving 29 new projects. The budget also includes 22 projects for industrial growth and 18 for agriculture, signaling the government’s intent to diversify economic development.

In total, the development portfolio will consist of 1,349 ongoing projects and 810 new ones. The estimated cost for all new schemes stands at Rs88.13 billion, making it one of the most ambitious budgets in recent years.

The KP government says these projects will not only improve public services and infrastructure but also create new jobs and stimulate local economies. Authorities have pledged to ensure transparent implementation and timely delivery of each scheme.
