Sardaar Ji 3 backlash: Diljit Dosanjh praises Hania Aamir’s professionalism

Published on: June 26, 2025 4:32 PM

Indian superstar Diljit Dosanjh has openly defended his co-star Hania Aamir and the makers of Sardaar Ji 3 after political tensions sparked backlash over her casting. The film faced criticism from Indian film bodies following India-Pakistan conflicts and Hania’s condemnation of Indian airstrikes on Pakistan. Despite this, Dosanjh praised Hania’s professionalism during filming and expressed respect for her work and privacy.

Dosanjh explained that the film’s producers chose not to release Sardaar Ji 3 in India to avoid financial losses, but the international release will continue. He highlighted that filming took place during a peaceful period before relations worsened. Dosanjh also spoke about his commitment to Punjabi culture and his belief that music and cinema can transcend political divides.

While some Indian groups called for a ban on Hania, she received strong support locally in Pakistan. Dosanjh’s remarks offer a rare public gesture of unity and respect between artists from both countries amid rising nationalism. His stance underlines the potential of art and cinema to bridge tensions and foster cultural exchange despite political challenges.

Known globally for promoting Punjabi identity, Dosanjh remains focused on celebrating his roots through music and film. His defense of Hania Aamir and the film reflects his broader message that creativity and collaboration should not be limited by national boundaries or political conflicts.

As Sardaar Ji 3 prepares to release internationally, Dosanjh’s solidarity serves as a hopeful reminder of the power of art to connect people beyond borders.
