LNG prices drop further as OGRA cuts rates for July

Published on: July 15, 2025 6:18 PM

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has announced a further reduction in the prices of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) for July. According to the latest notification, LNG prices have been cut by up to 2.68%, offering slight relief to consumers amid broader energy challenges.

As per the OGRA notification, LNG prices for Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) have been reduced by $0.20 per MMBTU, while prices for Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) have dropped by $0.29 per MMBTU. The price cut reflects changes in global LNG market rates and transportation costs.

The revised price for SNGPL now stands at $11.58 per MMBTU, whereas the SSGC price has been lowered to $10.57 per MMBTU. These updated rates are effective immediately and will remain in place throughout the month of July.

This is the second consecutive monthly reduction in LNG prices, as Pakistan navigates high energy demand during the summer. OGRA aims to balance global market trends with domestic affordability by making such timely adjustments.

The latest price cut is expected to slightly ease the burden on industries and domestic consumers. However, energy experts note that continued fluctuations in global LNG supply may influence future pricing. OGRA will continue to review pricing on a monthly basis to reflect international market conditions.
