Hina Khan seeks fresh roles after cancer battle

Published on: August 10, 2025 4:40 PM

Indian television actress Hina Khan, known for hit shows like Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2, has openly shared her struggle to find work after recovering from breast cancer. She revealed that despite her recovery, the industry has been hesitant to approach her with new opportunities. The actress explained that she had to decline several projects during her illness, which led to a year-long professional gap.

Currently appearing in the reality show Pati Patni Aur Panga alongside her husband Rocky Jaiswal, Hina described this project as her first work since undergoing treatment. She believes that while no one has directly told her, many in the industry may think she is still not fully recovered. However, she stressed that she feels healthy and is fully ready to work again.

Expressing her willingness to take on new roles, Hina urged filmmakers to consider her for upcoming projects, even stating that she is open to auditioning. She called on producers to give her a chance, emphasising her passion for acting and determination to rebuild her career. This heartfelt plea reflects her desire to move past the unspoken hesitation she senses from the entertainment industry.

Hina also shared her aspiration to portray a spy agent in an action-packed role for OTT platforms or films. She cited the action-thriller series Special Ops as her inspiration and expressed her wish to join similar spy-action projects. This reveals her interest in taking on challenging roles that can showcase her versatility.

The 37-year-old star’s openness about her health journey and career challenges highlights the broader struggles actors face when returning to work after serious illness. By speaking out, she hopes to break barriers and encourage industry leaders to see her potential beyond her medical history. Her message is clear—she is ready to work, ready to perform, and ready to take on the next chapter of her career.
