Fawad Khan breaks silence on his inclusion as judge in ‘Pakistan Idol’

Published on: November 1, 2025 12:30 AM

Pakistan’s superstar Fawad Khan has responded to criticism over his selection as a judge on Pakistan Idol. After a decade-long break, Pakistan Idol has returned but is already facing controversy – particularly regarding the choice of judges. The panel includes Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Zeb Bangash, Bilal Maqsood and Fawad Khan.

Many social media users questioned the inclusion of Fawad and Bilal, while singer Humaira Arshad also criticized Fawad Khan’s appointment. Some online users claimed that the younger generation is unfamiliar with the musical work of Fawad and Bilal.

It’s worth mentioning that Bilal Maqsood was part of the famous band Strings, while Fawad Khan began his career as the lead vocalist of the band Entity Paradigm (EP).

During a recent music launch event for his upcoming film Neelofar in Lahore, when Fawad was asked whether he had sung any songs, he jokingly replied, “No, I haven’t sung any song.”

Laughing, he added, “Pakistan isn’t letting me sing.” His witty response quickly went viral on social media, with fans praising his sense of humor and light-hearted reaction to the criticism.
