HONG KONG: Pakistan captain Abbas Afridi delivered a record-breaking performance at the Hong Kong Sixes 2025, smashing six consecutive sixes in an over to lead his team to a dramatic four-wicket victory over Kuwait on Friday.

Chasing Kuwait’s target of 123 runs, Pakistan reached 124 off the final delivery of the innings, thanks to Afridi’s explosive unbeaten 55 off just 12 balls, which included eight sixes in total and an unforgettable over of six consecutive maximums.

Shahid Aziz provided crucial support at the end, scoring 23 not out from five balls, as Pakistan clinched the win in a nail-biting finish.

Earlier, Kuwait had posted a strong total after Adnan Idrees set the tone with 17 off eight balls. Bilal Tahir and Meet Bhavsar continued the charge, taking Kuwait to 88-1 with a series of powerful strokes. Bhavsar’s fireworks included multiple sixes and fours as Kuwait crossed 100 in the fifth over.

Afridi, however, made a significant impact with the ball as well, taking a key wicket early on before conceding 39 runs in the final over of Kuwait’s innings — a display that only heightened the drama of his later batting heroics.
