ISLAMABAD: Investigators on Wednesday detained a bike rider from an online ride-hailing service who had dropped off the suicide bomber outside the judicial complex in Islamabad, police said. The arrest comes as authorities continue probing the attack that killed 12 people and injured 36 others on Tuesday.
A police official stated that the bomber had paid the fare for the ride, which was traced through CCTV footage. The ride began from Chongi No. 26 and ended near the judicial complex, where the bomber made multiple failed attempts to enter the premises due to heightened security measures. He eventually detonated the explosives after a police vehicle approached the area.

Authorities are now tracking the bomber’s movements to determine whether he had accomplices in Islamabad and to trace the source of the explosives used in the attack. The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has registered a formal case regarding the incident.
Security officials highlighted that the bomber spent around 15 minutes in the vicinity before detonating himself, targeting the road adjacent to the judicial complex. The investigation is ongoing to map his activities leading up to the attack and identify any networks involved.
