Nine killed, 13 injured in Srinagar police station blast
SRINAGAR – At least nine people were killed and 13 others injured when a powerful explosion ripped through a police station compound in Srinagar, Indian-occupied Kashmir, on Saturday.

According to Indian media, the blast occurred after a large quantity of confiscated ammonium nitrate detonated inside the premises, triggering a massive fire. Several vehicles parked in the compound were engulfed in flames, while parts of the police station building suffered extensive structural damage.

Rescue teams rushed to the scene, battling flames and debris as authorities warned that the death toll may rise. The incident took place in a highly sensitive zone, adding to security concerns in the region.

This tragedy follows another deadly explosion earlier this week in New Delhi, where a car bomb near the Red Fort metro station killed 12 people and left at least 20 injured, raising alarm over a series of violent incidents across India.
