ISLAMABAD: Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday to discuss the political situation and provincial affairs, according to a statement from the PM Office. No further details of the meeting were disclosed.

The meeting took place shortly after the enactment of the 27th Amendment, which has sparked debates in legal and political circles, led to the resignation of two Supreme Court judges, and prompted significant restructuring within key judicial bodies.

Separately, PM Shehbaz highlighted Pakistan’s hosting of international cricket events as a reflection of the country’s positive image, peace, and stability. Speaking at a luncheon hosted in honour of the Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Zimbabwe cricket teams participating in a tri-nation series, he praised the players’ dedication and urged them to set a guiding example for the younger generation through sportsmanship.

The premier also commended Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi for successfully managing the series with effective arrangements and professional standards, providing fans with high-quality cricket.

Later, at a ceremony marking the International Day for Tolerance, PM Shehbaz reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to minority rights, urging citizens to respect all communities and uphold equality as envisioned by Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah.
