Two policemen martyred, three injured in DI Khan blast

Two policemen were martyred and three sustained injuries in a blast that occurred near police van passing through Kalachi area of Dera Ismail Khan, TV channel quoting police sources reported on Thursday. According to initial reports, two policemen lost their lives after a blast that took place near a police van crossing the Kalachi area of D.I.Khan. Three policemen were also injured in the same incident. The police team are shifting the dead and injured to nearby hospital. Meanwhile, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi has strongly condemned the bomb attack on a police vehicle in Dera Ismail Khan and has sought an immediate report from the Provincial Inspector General of Police. Terming the incident “deeply regrettable and highly condemnable,” the CM said that those involved in the attack would be brought to justice. He added that such cowardly acts cannot weaken the government’s resolve, and the fight against terrorism will continue with even greater determination. Afridi said that the sacrifices of the martyred police personnel would not go in vain. “All available resources will be utilized to establish lasting peace and completely eliminate terrorism,” he stated, reaffirming that the provincial government stands firmly with the police and all law enforcement agencies in their efforts to maintain peace in the province.
