Samsung Launches Galaxy Z TriFold Phone

Published on: December 2, 2025 11:00 AM

Samsung Launches Galaxy Z TriFold Phone

Samsung unveiled its first Galaxy Z TriFold phone on Tuesday, a triple-folding special edition priced at $2,443. It will go on sale December 12. The phone folds into a 10-inch display, designed to boost productivity and creative work. Samsung emphasized it is not meant for mass-market buyers. The device is sleek, premium, and positioned as a luxury tech product.

The Galaxy Z TriFold folds three times and comes only in black. It weighs 309 grams and measures less than 0.2 inches at its thinnest point. The phone includes generative AI features, offering real-time help via screen or camera sharing. Samsung created it to stand out in a crowded smartphone market. Huawei had released a similar triple-folding phone last year.

Samsung’s new phone arrives amid slow growth in the global smartphone sector. Companies are competing with innovative designs and technology. Executive Vice President Kim Seong-eun called the Galaxy Z TriFold a “special edition” product. It focuses on multimedia, productivity, and AI-assisted tools. Analysts say it shows Samsung’s effort to lead in premium foldable devices.

The launch coincides with Apple’s expected rise as the world’s top smartphone maker by 2029. Apple is projected to hold 19.4 percent of global market share in 2025, while Samsung holds 18.7 percent. Apple may release its first foldable iPhone next year, increasing competition. Samsung aims to assert its innovation leadership with the Galaxy Z TriFold. The product highlights the company’s focus on high-end, unique devices.

Samsung aims to attract tech enthusiasts and early adopters with this innovative device. Market watchers expect competitors to follow with advanced foldable models. The Galaxy Z TriFold reinforces Samsung’s place in premium smartphone innovation.
